Lineo extends embedded Linux support for ARM cores -- ARM support is now available in both Embedix Linux and Embedix uClinux, thereby covering embedded systems with and without MMUs. story

PowerPC and embedded Linux ride the PC/104-Plus range -- Cowboy Industries has created a PowerPC-based single-board computer on a PC/104-Plus form-factor. The tiny SBC will be supported under embedded Linux. story

Lineo announces web site for open source contributions -- a new website collects, in one place, information and downloads relating to open source projects funded or maintained by Lineo and its employees. story

Centura announces embeddable open-source database -- Centura Software announced a secure, high-performance ultra-small footprint open source database solution for embedded and mobile devices, called db.star. story

Lineo offers a bridge to Linux from VxWorks, pSOS -- Lineo now offers compatibility libraries, code-named "Golden Gate", that offer developers an easy way to convert VxWorks and pSOS programs into Embedix Linux programs. story

Hard Hat Linux hits the masses (of developers) -- 138,000 copies of MontaVista's Hard Hat Linux CD were included inside the June EDN Magazine, which featured a cover story titled "Linux strafes the embedded landscape" story

ZipSpeak 7.1-1 enables talking Linux systems -- the latest version of this talking Linux adds support for several speech synthesizers, simplifies customization, simplifies Web browsing, and adds international keyboard support. story

Neoware demo's NeoLinux 2.0 at PC Expo -- version 2 adds new features that target information appliance and embedded applications. story
