Can Free Software be profitable? -- In this guest column at LinuxDevices.com, the CEO of Mind NV explains how Mind has successfully become profitable while remaining a pure free and open source software based embedded development company. Story
Porting RTLinux to the MIPS 'Atlas' reference board -- This brief technical article summarizes a project of porting RTLinux to the MIPS Atlas board with MIPS 4Kc core, in an effort to develop a suitable real-time environment for system-on-chip based applications such as multimedia and VoIP gateways, routers, etc. As part of the project, the team measured the response time of the real-time interrupts and the scheduler, and compared it to that of the standard Linux kernel (the results are tabulated).
