Coventive's US office will focus on developing and expanding strategic business alliances with North American companies in the areas of open source product design and development, software distribution and professional services.

Its XLinux products are among Asia's most popular branded Linux solutions for enterprise servers, marketed through strategic partnerships with major manufacturers such as Acer, Compaq, IBM, and HP. The company is also an innovator of embedded Linux software, offering one of the smallest fully functional commercial embedded Linux kernels -- at just 143 KB. The powerful Linux functionality delivered in Coventive's micro kernel is uniquely suited to tiny mobile and hand held information devices where engineering specifications are too rigorous for common embedded Linux solutions.

In addition to its new US organization, Coventive plans to expand operations into other major geographies in the coming months.
