BluePoint Linux Software has disclosed an agreement with Launch Computer Co. (Shenzhen, China) under which BluePoint will develop a Linux-based "PDA Operating System" based on Bluepoint's Linux-based "BluePoint Embedded" Embedded Linux OS. BluePoint will provide Launch Computer with development kits, training, and technical support. Launch Computer intends to develop automobile diagnostic tools and other automobile service related applications on the PDA Operating System. Product development will be completed in April, 2001.

Launch Computer is a hi-tech enterprise specializing in researching, development, production and marketing of computerized automobile diagnostic tools in China. Launch Computer was the first company in China to introduce hi-tech automobile diagnostic technology and has developed a series of automobile diagnostic tools for the Chinese automobile manufacturing and service industry and holds the largest market share in China. Its customers include Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Benz, BMW, Audi/Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Daewoo, OBD II, Shanghai GM, and Beijing Jeep.

BluePoint Linux Software is the developer of the first "true Chinese" Linux operating system, named BluePoint. The company is currently focusing on the development of Embedded Linux Operating systems, named "BluePoint Embedded." Among the developments based on BluePoint's embedded Linux are an intelligent housing system (called "E-Home"), PDA, web terminal, multi-media broadband set-top box, and webTV products.
