Compaq introduces new low-cost monochrome iPAQ

Compaq has unveiled a new low-cost monochrome version of the iPAQ Pocket PC, the Model H3150. Available immediately and priced at $349, H3150 Pocket PC features a 15-grayscale monochrome screen plus a 206 MHz Intel StrongArm processor and 16MB of RAM. The company also announced a new $99 foldable keyboard for the entire family of iPAQ Pocket PC products.

Although the iPAQ comes with Microsoft Pocket PC (Windows CE), the device has recently become a popular platform for several implementations of embedded Linux for handheld computers. LinuxDevices.com has published a series of articles on installing and using Linux on the iPAQ . . .
