The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) is seeking presenters for its next Embedded Linux Conference. The conference is scheduled for April 15-17 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, and the deadline for presentation submissions is February 5.

As with the 2007 Embedded Linux Conference, the fifth-annual conference next April will be open to the general public and focus primarily on embedded applications in consumer electronics (CE). However, presentations on other embedded areas will be allowed as long as the topic is of "general relevance to most embedded developers," says CELF. The program will include two keynotes, 54 sessions, and six BOF (birds-of-a-feather) sessions.

Presentations on the following topics are encouraged, especially if they are technical in nature, says CELF, and won't be construed as "commercial advertisements or sales pitches:"

Audio, video, and graphics systems for embedded products
Security
System size
Bootup time
Meeting real-time constraints
Power management
Streaming media
Flash memory devices and filesystems
Technologies related to cell phones, digital set-top boxes, handheld devices, or other CE products
Development tools for embedded users
Use of Linux in actual products -- practical experience and war stories
Standards for CE products

CELF provides the following guidelines for its presentations:

Most presentation slots are slated for 50 minutes, including time for questions, but a few 40-minute slots are also available.
Speakers may submit a request to present a tutorial, which are typically longer, interactive learning sessions that occupy more than one session slot,
CELF prefers presentations that have not been previously presented, but exceptions are possible.
A single individual may submit more than one proposal, but with the number of slots limited, it is unlikely that more than one presentation will be accepted.
No paper submission is required in conjunction with the presentation.

The Embedded Linux Conference is priced at $300 for professionals and $50 for hobbyists. Proposals for presentations, demos, and BOFs must be received by February 5, and speakers will be notified of acceptance by March 1.
