| Mobile Linux conference keynotes announced |

 Keynote speakers have been announced for the Mobile Linux Conference taking place during the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo on Aug. 5-7th. Speakers include Linux Pundit's Bill Weinberg, Motorola's Christy Wyatt, Intel's Ram Peddibholta (pictured), and a panel with executives from Access, Funambol, Sprint, and Sun.
Announced in April, the Mobile Linux Conference will be collocated with the LinuxWorld Expo at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, starting a day later than LinuxWorld on Tuesday August 5th. Sponsored by Access, Motorola, Nokia, Trolltech, and Wind River, the Mobile Linux Conference includes an Embedded Linux track, as well as tracks on mobile Linux platforms and application development.

Other LinuxWorld events of interest to embedded Linux developers include a "Linux Garage" event that will showcase "the latest and coolest gadgets based on embedded Linux." In addition, separate "developer day" events are being hosted during LinuxWorld by Access and Wind River on August 5th and 6th, respectively.
The keynote presentations for the Mobile Linux Conference are as follows:- Tuesday, 9AM: "Unifying Mobile Linux Platforms" -- Moderated by open-source analyst Bill Weinberg (pictured above right), the panel will feature Google's Eric Chu, Qualcomm's Sy Choudhury, the LiMo Foundation's Morgan Gillis, and Trolltech/Nokia's Knut Yrvin.
- Wednesday, 9AM: "Seizing the open platform opportunity" -- Christy Wyatt (pictured at right), VP, Software Platforms & Ecosystem at Motorola, will examine the mobile Linux arena from the point of view of a company that has dominated mobile Linux hardware and is a member of both the LiMo Foundation and the Google Android sponsoring group, the Open Handset Alliance.
- Wednesday, 2PM: "Moblin, the software platform for mobile Internet experience" -- Ram Peddibholta (pictured at top), Director of Intel’s Open Source Technology Center, will discuss the work underway at Moblin.org, and will examine platforms including Mobile Internet Devices, netbooks, nettops, and automotive in-vehicle infotainment platforms.
- Thursday, 9AM: "Real-world roll-out of applications and services on mobile Linux" -- This panel will focus on "realizing the maximum return" on mobile Linux development and "overcoming the application challenges posed by the increased number of mobile devices hitting the street." Panel members include Sun Microsystem's Jacob Lehrbaum, Access's Didier Diaz, Funambol's Fabrizio Capobianco, and Sprint Advanced Technology Labs's John Larson.
Stated Motorola's Christy Wyatt, "The mobile landscape can be challenging to navigate, but there's tremendous opportunity for developers -- especially as the industry continues to adopt open platforms such as Linux."
Stated Intel's Ram Peddibholta, "Moblin.org is at the forefront of bringing together the open source innovations in mobile Linux."
