New Chinese PDA to use Bluepoint Embedded Linux

Los Angeles, CA -- (press release excerpt) -- Bluepoint Linux Software today announced that it has signed an agreement with Great Wall Computer (Shenzhen, China). Bluepoint will provide customized Bluepoint's Embedded [Linux] Operating System and related application software for Great Wall PDA products (called "Palm Sized PCs" by Great Wall). Bluepoint will provide Great Wall with Bluepoint's Embedded Development Kit, engineer training, technical support and consulting service. Great Wall will purchase Embedded system and related application software licenses from Bluepoint.

Mr. Yu Deng, the president of Bluepoint, commented: "We have been shifting our focus from Linux server software to more profitable Embedded Linux software business. We have made significant progress in the development of a whole line of Embedded products, including Intelligent Housing (E-Home), PDA, set-top box, WebTV, and Thin Client systems. The agreement with Great Wall is an important milestone in our business development. It marks the entry of Bluepoint products into the mass consumer product market."

Great Wall is one of the largest computer enterprises in China. The company's products include personal computers, monitors, power supplies, printers, electronic boards & cards, high performance MR heads, Internet applications and systems integration.
