ETX modules are highly integrated SBCs that can be used in a design application much like an integrated circuit component. An ETX module integrates core CPU and memory functionality, the common I/O of a PC/AT (serial, parallel, etc.), USB, audio, graphics, and Ethernet on a 3.7 x 4.4 in. board. All I/O signals from these peripheral systems, as well as full implementation of ISA and PCI busses, are mapped to four high density, low profile connectors on the bottom the module. To use an ETX single board computer, mating connectors are placed on an application-specific baseboard, thus creating a plug-on site for the ETX module. When these modules are attached to a baseboard, the result is virtually the same height as a single board solution. The ETX module uses high performance processing and I/O functionality for an application-specific baseboard, allowing designers of embedded systems to create semi-custom board level systems quickly, efficiently and economically. ETX SBCs are interchangeable and offer scalability and seamless future migration. ETX modules are available in a wide range of processor performance.
JUMPtec-Adastra provides Embedded Linux support for all of its ETX form-factor SBCs.
The JUMPtec-Adastra ETX product line currently has the following family members . . . - ETX-P3E (photo) -- The ETX-P3E is based on a mobile Intel Pentium-III processor and represents the highest level of performance available in ETX today. For low power applications, versions of the ETX-P3E are available with a 300MHz Celeron processor. The ETX-P3E utilizes a highly integrated core chip set, the VT8603C/82C686B (Twister) from VIA Technologies, which integrates an 8x AGP Savage 4 graphics controller from S3. CPU and graphics capability is unparalleled in performance and in value. The ETX-P3E is a second generation Pentium III design for Jumptec, proving the ability of ETX technology to break new ground using innovative technology.
- ETX-MGX (photo) -- The ETX-MGX is based on the on National Semiconductor Geode GX1 processor, up to 266MHz, and can be used without active cooling. The module supports up to 128 MByte of SDRAM in an SO-DIMM socket and also includes a socket for CompactFlash, a bootable, IDE-compatible flash memory module. The ETX-MGX offers all standard PC interfaces, including sound, USB, and high-speed PCI graphics. The ETX-MGX also offers total connectivity via multiple communication interfaces (Ethernet, EIDE, serial, and more) and is expandable through full implementations of the ISA and PCI busses. The graphics controller, with a UMA video buffer up to 4M, drives both CRTs and flat panel displays with resolutions up 1280 x 1024 (256 colors).
- ETX-P1 (photo) -- based on the Intel Pentium processor with MMX technology, the ETX-P1 module is designed for very low-power operation, and can be used without active cooling. The ETX-P1 offers all standard PC interfaces, including sound, USB, and high-speed AGP graphics. The ETX-P1 also offers total connectivity via multiple communication interfaces (Ethernet, EIDE, serial, and more) and is expandable through full implementations of the ISA and PCI busses.
