Abatron BDM and JTAG Debug Tools
[Vendor: Ultimate Solutions Inc.]

Abatron develops and produces high-quality, high-speed BDM and JTAG Debug Tools (BDI Family) for software development environments from leading vendors.

BDI3000 High-speed BDM/JTAG Debug Interface

Abatron has just introduced the new BDI3000 high-speed BDM/JATG debug interface. The latest member of the world-wide BDI family (BDI1000/BDI2000) offers high performance, great flexibility and excellent product quality.

The BDI3000 offers BDM debug support for ColdFire and PowerPC 5xx/8xx, and JTAG debug support for PowerPC, ARM, XScale and MIPS. Host communication for the BDI3000 is via RS232 and Ethernet (10/100). The BDI3000 has a fast program download speed up to 1500 Kbytes/s, and BDM/JTAG clock up to 32 MHz. The new BDI3000 supports target system voltages from 1.2 to 5 V, and offers flash memory on-board programming. Debuggers from leading vendors are supported by the BDI3000, and the same hardware can be used for all supported targets and debuggers.

The BDI3000 is available immediately from Ultimate Solutions, Inc., the only stocking distributor of Abatron products in North America.

BDI3000 Features
  • BDM debug support for ColdFire, PowerPC 5xx/8xx
  • JTAG debug support for PowerpC, ARM. XScale, MIPS
  • Host communication via RS232 and Ethernet (10/100)
  • Program download speed up to 1500 Kbytes/s
  • BDM/JTAG clock up to 32 MHz
  • Supports target systems voltages from 1.2 – 5 V
  • Supports debuggers from leading vendors
  • Same hardware for all supported targets and debuggers
  • Flash memory on-board programming

  • Excellent price-performance payoff
  • 3 year warranty

BDI2000 High-speed BDM/JTAG Debug Interface

The BDI2000 is a high-speed BDM/JTAG interface with comprehensive support for debuggers from leading vendors. The BDI2000 allows communications via RS232 or 10 BASE-T Ethernet between the development computer and the BDM/JTAG interface of the target system. The BDI2000 communicates with the target system with up to 16 Mbits/s and allows very fast program download rates of up to 320 KBytes/s.

In most cases, the BDI2000 and the associated software package eliminate the need for expensive hardware such as an in-circuit emulator. Even better, the BDI2000 accesses the on-chip emulation capabilities of today's newest processors which are not supported by traditional ICEs.

BDI2000 Features:
  • BDM support for CPU16/32/32+, PowerPC5xx/8xx, ColdFire
  • JTAG support for ARM, M-CORE, PowerPC 4xx/6xx/7xx/74xx/5200, PowerPC 82xx/83xx/85xx, XScale, MIPS32, MIPS64
  • Host communication via RS232 and Ethernet
  • Program download speed up to 320 KBytes/s
  • Target communication speed up to 16 Mbits/s
  • Supports debuggers from leading vendors
  • Same hardware for all supported targets and debuggers
  • Flash memory on-board programming
  • Easy connection to the target system
  • Robust EMC-optimized design
  • Excellent price-performance payoff
  • 3 years warranty

BDI1000 High-speed BDM/JTAG Debug Interface

The BDI1000 allows communication via RS232 or 10 BASE-T Ethernet between the development computer and the BDM or JTAG interface of the target system. BDI1000 communicates with the target system with up to 5.5 Mbit/s (BDM) or 12 Mbit/s (JTAG) and allows fast program download rates of up to 130 KBytes/s.

The firmware and the programmable logic of the BDI1000 can be updated by the user with a simple Windows based configuration program. Thanks to the built-in DC-DC converter, the BDI1000 can be directly supplied from target system (2.5-5VDC) or with an external line adapter. The BDI1000 is optimally prepared for portable field applications.

PI1000 Features:
  • BDM support for CPU12/16/32/32+, PowerPC5xx/8xx, ColdFire
  • JTAG support for M-CORE, PowerPC4xx, ARM, XScale
  • Host communication via RS232 and Ethernet
  • Program download speed up to 130 Kbytes/s
  • Target communication speed up to 5.5 Mbits/s (BDM), 11 Mbits/s (JTAG)
  • Supports debuggers from leading vendors
  • Same hardware for all supported targets and debuggers
  • Powered from target system with 2.5 - 5 V or external line adapter
  • Optimally prepared for portable field applications
