Real-Time Virtualization for the Connected World
VirtualLogix, Inc. is the global leader in Real-Time Virtualization technology for connected devices. VirtualLogix VLX enables multiple operating system environments to run concurrently on shared hardware and provides a range of performance, fault tolerance, and security options to address specific market requirements. As a result, the world's largest semiconductor companies, manufacturers, OEMs, and carriers are able to reduce development and bill-of-material costs, improve time to market by leveraging existing software investments, and create conditions that meet their business goals. With more than 20 years of experience developing system software for network infrastructure, mobile handsets, and other embedded equipment, VirtualLogix is paving the way for the development of next generation connected devices.

Founded in 2002, VirtualLogix is privately owned and has received financial backing from Atlas Venture, Cisco Systems, DFJ Esprit, Index Venture, Intel Capital, Motorola Ventures, and Texas Instruments. VirtualLogix has established partnerships with industry leaders including Intel and Texas Instruments. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, VirtualLogix has a worldwide development, professional services, and customer support team.

The Product

VirtualLogix VLX real-time virtualization technology enables Linux and in-house or commercial real-time operating system (RTOS) to run side-by-side on a single general purpose processor or digital signal processor (DSP).

VirtualLogix VLX is targeted to application domains ranging from telecom/datacom equipment with both control and data planes to next generation of mobile-phones, set-top boxes and other customer premises equipment, where time-constrained critical applications (like telephony) and legacy applications need to run concurrently with general purpose operating system services.

Free Whitepapers

  • Meeting The Challenges Of Connected Device Design Through Real-Time Virtualization

Learn how VirtualLogix VLX real-time virtualization technology enables multiple operating systems (OSes) to run simultaneously on the same processor while satisfying hard real-time requirements of embedded devices. By sharing hardware resources and combining commercial or proprietary real-time operating systems (RTOS) with open and rich OS such as Linux, system designers are able to rapidly add more functionality, yet lower bill-of-materials and development costs.
