Open source RTOS aims "compatibility kit" at VxWorks
Apr. 02, 2003

Jaluna announced the release of a "compatibility kit" that is said to allow the use of previously developed VxWorks code and third-party libraries on the company's open source, royalty free Jaluna real-time operating system.

The Jaluna VxWorks compatibility kit is being offered as an add-on to the Jaluna-1 Carrier-Grade Edition, powered by the C5 real-time microkernel, the company said. The compatibility kit boasts VxWorks 5.4 emulation and translation of VxWorks system calls to C5 system calls, thus preserving their real-time behavior.

An evaluation copy of the compatibility kit in binary format can be downloaded here.

Jaluna SA (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France) was founded in August 2002 by the creators of the Sun's Chorus microkernel operating system.
